GeoDataTools ("we", "us") provides free online tools to visualize, convert, and edit geographic data. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the site, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
1. File data you import
Files you open in the map viewer or converter tools (GeoJSON, KML, Shapefile, CSV, GPX, etc.) are processed entirely in your browser. They are not uploaded to our servers.
2. Cookies and third-party services
We only load the services below after you respond to the cookie consent banner (or when you change your choices via "Cookie Preferences"). You can withdraw consent at any time.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — usage analytics. Loaded only if you consent to "Analytics". See Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google AdSense — displays ads that keep GeoDataTools free. Loaded only if you consent to "Advertising". May use cookies for ad personalization depending on your choice. See Google's Ads Policy.
- askvo.io chat widget — an optional support chat widget. Loaded only if you consent to "Chat". If you submit a message or contact details through the widget, that information is sent to and processed by askvo.io on our behalf to respond to your request. See askvo.io for their terms.
You can change your choices at any time using the button below, or by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
3. Legal basis
Where we rely on your consent (analytics, advertising, chat), the legal basis is Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Strictly necessary functionality (serving the site itself) relies on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in operating the service).
4. Data retention
Your consent choice is stored in your browser's local storage until you change it or clear your browser data. Analytics and advertising data retention is governed by Google's own retention policies. Chat conversation data retention is governed by askvo.io's policies.
5. Your rights
If you are in the EEA/UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@geodata.tools.
